Growing up in Bangalore in the 1990’s, Mahesh rejected everything mainstream. Being a rebel in a traditional society would get him into trouble, so his parents thought it would be a good idea (after finishing school), to send him to his granny’s house in rural India. Spending two years in a traditional South Indian village gave him a unique perspective on life and the people surrounding him. It was here that Mahesh found his calling to tell stories about the amazing people he chances upon.
He then returned to Bangalore to pursue filmmaking and worked for a few production houses, making short films for big companies and also wrote and directed an avant-garde feature film. He met an inspiring English girl and followed her to London and found himself working for the BFI’s London Film Festival (where he enjoyed long conversations about the art of story telling, with famous actors, writers and directors).
The Motherland was calling, so Mahesh moved back to India to build a retreat centre in the hills of South India. Now he spends his time between running the retreat, pursuing personal photography and film projects and enjoying assignments where he gets to travel and meet interesting people and experience different cultures.
